Job Title and Number of Job PositionsA few Project Assistant Professors
Term of employmentStarting as soon as the position is filled and ending on March 31, 2026.
Renewal of ContractYour employment contract may be renewed annually up to March 2029.
Renewal of an employment contract will be determined by the following factors: budget status, assigned work progress, end-of-period work volume, all relevant factors such as performance, work records, attitudes, and/or your medical condition.
Probation period14 days from the date of employment.
Place of workInternational Center for Elementary Particle Physics (ICEPP), The University of Tokyo (7-3-1 Hongo Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, Japan)
(Scope of Change) The faculty member will be assigned to the place designated by the University (In principle, the faculty member will not be reassigned or transferred against his/her will. (For details, please refer to Article 4 of the Regulations Concerning the Employment of University of Tokyo Faculty Members.)

Contents of work dutiesThe appointed person will carry out research to realize the PIONEER experiment. She/he is also expected to work in the MEG II experiment for synergetic research.
(Scope of Change) May order reassignment, dual assignment, or secondment. (In principle, the faculty member will not be reassigned or transferred against his/her will. (For details, please refer to Article 4 of the Regulations Concerning the Employment of University of Tokyo Faculty Members.)
Working hoursDiscretionary work system for professional work applies and working hours will be deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes per day.
Days off and LeaveSaturdays, Sundays, Holidays, and the year-end and New Year holidays (December 29 to January 3)
Annual Paid Leave, Special Leave, etc.
Wages, etc.Appointee’s salary will be determined according to the UTokyo rules on application of the annual salary system.
・Annual salary system is adopted, and appointee will be paid about 400K-470K JPY per month including performance-based bonus (depending on the appointee’s ability, performance and experience).
・Appointee may be able to have commuting allowance (up to 55K JPY per month) if the payment conditions are satisfied.
InsuranceYou will be enrolled in the insurance from the Mutual Aid Association of MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) and Employment Insurance by being provided for in the law.
EligibilityPersons with Ph. D or equivalent degree are considered to be eligible. Those who are expected to obtain Ph. D by the time of appointment are also considered.
